July 15th 2020 was a historic day for college sports when universities and collegiate conferences publicly announced the cancelation of soccer events in the Fall. There have been many questions left unanswered since the shut down of college soccer.
One solution has been proposed by the Division I coaches who put forth recommendations for dates for the spring season to the Division I Board of Directors. Under the recommended dates, the start of practice for each program would be left up to the decision for each school. The first date for games would be February 3 and the regular season would conclude on April 24.
The Board is schedule to vote to approve the dates on Sept. 16.
Recommended 2021 dates to be presented to Division I Board of Directors:
Spring Season First Permissible Game: February 3
Regular Season Competition End Date: April 24
NCAA Tournament Selection: April 25
NCAA Tournament Start: April 30
NCAA Men’s and Women’s Championship: May 13-17
